Announcements for the Week of November 27th

1. Ladies Night- Nov. 30th, 8pm, Michelle Andrew's House: Get Set Ladies!! Beginning on Friday, November 30th and for every first Friday of the month afterwards (except for December which we'll be doing on 11/30), the YAG women leaders will be hosting a monthly Ladies Night! Next Friday evening we will be meeting at Michelle Andrews house (103 Maclaren St. in Red Bank) for some much needed hangout time and for a cookie exchange & some holiday crafting! So if you're a lady then make sure you're at Michelle's house (8pm) on Friday, Nov. 30th!

2. YAG Christmas Party- Tues. Dec. 18: Make sure you are able to come to YAG on December 18th because we will be kicking off Christmas with the annual White Elephant gift exchange. Bring some awesome…or bring something stupid…just wrap that baby up and get it under the tree and wait for insanity to ensue.

3. Christmas Connect Shopping- Thurs. Dec. 20, 7:30pm, Target in Middletown: We have started collecting money if you would like to donate to this year's Connect shopping efforts. We do this every year to help an underprivileged family or families in Red Bank have a Merry Christmas. If you would like to contribute, please see Sandi. We'll be meeting at the Target in Middletown on Thurs. 12/20 at 7:30pm for a shopping extravaganza so if you would like to help shop or wrap gifts, please come!

4. Christmas Party- Dec. 23rd (NOTE the date change!), 9am, Juan's (& co.) house- On December 23rd there will be a morning Christmas party at Juan & co.'s house. Come in your PJ's for a gift exchange, a reading of the Christmas Story and breakfast!

5. ORB Service Group Opportunities!- Recently, ORB started up it's very own service group that goes and reaches out to the community around us and globally, to help those who are less fortunate. There are a few opportunities that you can help take part in so listen up! Please contact Chris Dela Cruz delacruz.christopher@gmail.com to sign up for a particular event or to be put on the mailing list! If you want more information, talk to Chris or Emily.

6. Ronald McDonald House- Thurs. Dec. 13th, 4pm, Long Branch- On Thurs. Dec 13th a group of us will be going to the Ronald McDonald House in Long Branch to help prepare a meal for families who have seriously ill children. We are looking for about 4-5 more people to help. If you would like to help cook a meal, please email Chris to sign up!

7. Books For Africa, bring your donations to the Sunday Service or to a Tuesday night! Bring your old unused books to ORB's Sunday Service! We will be collecting books to ship off to various countries in Africa to help provide books to schools and libraries there. Donate your old textbooks, fiction, non-fiction, dictionaries, encyclopedias, National Geographic magazines, etc.! Don't let it collect dust on your book shelf, give away your unneeded things to people who actually need it. (Please, no romance novels, history books or books that subscribe to a particular religion…thanks!)

8. Elijah's Promise - Saturday, December 29th at 9AM we need 20 volunteers to help serve at Elijah's Promise Soup Kitchen in New Brunswick. See Emily Tang or Chris De La Cruz if interested.

9. Sunday Night Service –EVERY Sunday, 5pm, Episcopal Church: The YAG group is in charge of the Welcome this week. Thank you to Big Rick for offering to help us out with this on Sunday night. The service starts this week and every week at 5:00pm…Hope to see you there!

10. Tune in to G-Rock, Dec. 5th, 9am-1pm: If your ears are itching to hear some awesome tunes on the radio, tune in to G-rock on Dec. 5th between 9am and 1pm. Our very own Eugene's band, Throw the Heat will be doing a live acoustic set and an interview!

12. Looking for a roommate? How about the infamous Jay Ervin?- If you're looking for an apartment to rent or a roommate…talk to Jay Ervin!

14. This Thursday at the Icon Dance Center in Englishtown, please join Jill Murray and Sara Paluchowski for an awesome Beginner Hip Hop Dance Class. It is 12$ for the class and you can meet at Jill's place at 7:45PM and all ride over there together. That's tomorrow night, November 29th.

15. If interested in playing indoor soccer, please contact Chris de la Cruz.

16. If interested in starting up dodge ball again, please talk to Tom Sasso.

17. We need someone to volunteer to be the Webmaster for ORB. It needs periodic updating and such. If interested contact Michelle Andrews.

Announcements for Week of 11/20/07!

4. Gobble, Gobble, It's Turkey Bowl & the Homecoming Hoedown!- Fri. Nov. 23, 10AM Count Basie Fields & 7:30pm Episcopal Church: On Friday, November 23rd, the Annual Turkey Bowl Flag Football event of the year will be happening at the Count Basie Fields – 10am! Even if you're not one for flag football, bring your instruments & cheer leading outfits to be part of the halftime show (no skills required) and pep team! That same evening will be the Homecoming Dance at the Episcopal church (upstairs). It will start at 7:30pm and will be $10 at the door. Those $10 bones gets you awesome desserts & ridiculous dancing! Speaking of awesome desserts….

Announcements for the Week of November13th

Ladies Who are Interested in a Small Group – Now: Ladies, if you are interested in joining a small group, please contact one of us lady leaders (Me – Jill, Michelle, Sandi, or Emily). We will be meeting this week to discuss the direction of small groups and the potential for new small groups!

Attention – Beard Needed – Now: Our good friend Nora is in need of a beard. She is not particular about the texture, color, or specifics of the beard, she is just in need of any beard you are willing to offer her on a borrowing basis. Please contact Nora or see her at Sunday service if you have a beard you are willing to lend out.

Come out and Dance! Dance! - This Thursday: I'm very excited to announce that I'm putting together a little trip to the ICON dance center in Englishtown this Thursday for an adult hip-hop class that just started up last week. I was the only person who showed last week so I need to recruit more dancing fools! The class is hip-hop for beginners taught by a world renowned choreographer in a beautiful new dance center. The class is $12. We can all meet at my house and car pool. We would need to leave a little bit before 8. The class runs 8:30 – 9:30. If you are interested, please contact me, jillrgallo@yahoo.com. Also in the works is a Monday night trip to Salsa class at the same fine establishment.

Let China Buffet Take You Way – This Friday: Join the one and only Tom Sasso and others as they dine in style at the Middletown China Buffet. Meet outside at high noon.

ORB Benefit Show – This Friday: On November 16th, at 7:00PM there will be a fundraising Show at the Trinity Episcopal Church (where we meet for YAG, just upstairs). The funds will go to help support Matt Littlehale's Mission trip to Russia, and ORB's own Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic. The cost will be 10$. Roster of bands: The Ringout, Infinite Detour, Boy Girl Sleepover, Tsunamis, Triangle Shirt Factory.

Thrift Shop Tour – This Saturday: This Saturday we will be going on a Thrift Store Tour! We will leave early on Saturday morning (9am) and head out to the Lancaster area of Pennsylvania and try to hit a few thrift stores out there and then head home later that night after a wonderful dinner at some delicious place that Josh Valerio has suggested. If interested talk to Pete Andrews (pete@submergentmusic.com). Be sure to pack food or bring money for food and also cash or fundage for any and all shopping you plan on doing.

Eugene's Band is Rocking Out! – This Saturday: Be there or be square as Eugene's band rocks out at Starland Ballroom this Saturday. Tickets are $12 and the show starts at 7:00pm.

Sunday Night Service – This Sunday and EVERY Sunday: The Sunday service will be held in the sanctuary this week. The YAG group (us) is in charge of setup and take down. Please come early to help set up if you are available! The service starts this week and every week at 5:00pm although we are usually in the room right above the ORB basement. Hope to see you there!

Support our Troops – In Between now and This Sunday: Beth is collecting the following items for our troops over in the Middle East. Please either consider donating some of these items and bring them to Beth at either a Tuesday night YAG (in the next two weeks) or to the Sunday service by November 18th OR if you have no time to go out and get the items yourself, you could give Beth some money and she will purchase the items you would like to donate! The items are: Travel Size Shampoo, disposable Razors, Moist Wipes, Toothbrushes, Tooth paste (travel size), Chap-stick, Gum, Individual Packets of Powdered Drink Mix, hard Candy, and any Letters of Thanks for them you would like to write.

Gobble, Gobble, It's Turkey Bowl – November 23 : On Friday, November 23rd, the Annual Turkey Bowl Flag Football event of the year will be happening at the Count Basie Fields – 10:30am! And that same evening will be the Homecoming Dance at the Episcopal church (upstairs). It will start between 7 and 7:30pm and there will be a fee to get in. Exact times and fees have not been confirmed yet. So plan your day around those two events.

Prayer Groups – Every Wednesday morning and Sunday afternoon: There are two prayer groups that meet during the week. One meets Wednesday mornings at 6:30AM at the Church. The other meets at 4PM on Sundays before the service in room three. This room is right off of the room we worship in.

If you live near Keyport and you like to play with puppies - Anytime: If you live near Keyport and like to play with puppies, Brandon and I have a great opportunity for you! Our new bulldog puppy is so adorable and squishy and loves to be loved. We are out of the house 12 hours+ a day because of work and the commute. If you ever want to stop in and rub his little belly, just let us know. You are not required to be on poop dutie (haha) and his feedings are automatic from a dog food robot. Announcements for the Week of October 30th

~Room for rent:  there is a room for rent in Highlands.  This includes:  furniture (bed, couch, coffee table), private bathroom, private entrance, NO Kitchen, must be NON-Smoker!, No pets,  150$ / week which includes cable, internet and phone.  If interested, contact Theresa or Jon Wagner at 732-204-2616.  Thanks

~Softball games this Sunday.  One at 9:30AM and one at 11:00AM.  Please go out and support the Hutchie Bears at the Count Basie Fields.  

~One of these Saturdays we will be going on a Thrift Store Tour! We will leave early on Saturday morning and head out to Pennsylvania and try to hit a few thrift stores out there and then head home later that day/night. We will keep you posted as to the date! ~On Friday, November 23rd, the Annual Turkey Bowl Flag Football event of the year will be happening!  And that same evening will be the Homecoming Dance.  So plan your day around those two events.  One will be in the morning and one will be in the evening!

~Brandon and Jill got a new pup named Kreacher!  They are looking for some help.  Someone to go to there place during the day (Monday through Friday) while they are at work and feed and let Kreacher out to "tend to his business".  If you can help them out, let them know!

~If you are looking for a temporary job, Michelle knows a family looking for a nanny for about 2 months or so as an interim position.  If interested, let Michelle know.  This is a family from Ranney School, so the pay is probably pretty good.  :)
