Announcements for the week of August 20th

Tuesday, August 29th there will be a POOL PARTY at the Senior Andrews' house : 24 Lone Oak Rd. in Middletown.  WE ARE NOT MEETING IN THE BASEMENT!! Directions (From the South):  Take the Parkway North to Exit 114.  At the end of the exit ramp, make a right at the traffic light. Then make a left at the next traffic light on to Van Schoick Rd.  Once on Van Schoick you will go through several traffic lights.  Soon you will approach Route 35.  As you approach it there will be an Exxon Station on your right.  Just BEFORE the Exxon Station there will be a turn off on your right to get on to Route 35 South.  Once on 35 South, stay in the right lane, because you will take the first jug handle you come to.  Take the jug handle across 35 onto Cherry Tree Farm Road.  Once on Cherry Tree Farm Road, you will go through one traffic light.  Then Lone Oak Road will be the third street on your right.  Make the right and follow Lone Oak around some curves until it straightens out. On Wednesdays, Ultimate Frisbee is being played at Fair Haven Fields on Ridge Road in Fair Haven.  6:30 PM every Wednesday.

October 13-15th is the weekend of our Fall Retreat. Please come and join us for a great weekend away.  We will be going to Streamside Retreat and Conference Center in Pennsylvania.  The cost is 95$, but don't let that stop you from coming.  Talk to any of the leaders if money is an issue.

There is a room for rent in Anthony Sole's and Jay Ervin's apartment in the Thousand Oaks Village in Atlantic Highlands, for 280$ a month, all utilities included.  There is no door on this room, but they are happy to build one for you, if you would like!

There is a Co-Ed Softball League starting up for anyone age 21 and up.  The games will be at The Count Basie field in Red Bank on Sundays from 10 AM to 1 PM.  Please talk to Juan if interested.

There are a couple of job opportunities available working for the Asbury Park Window Factory.  One for a truck driver, no CDL required.  And one for some office/computer work.  If interested, speak with Josh Valerio.

September 16th there will be an event in New York City called Dance for Darfur that Emily Tang is helping to organize.  It will be a block party type thing.  More details to come; save the date!

Announcements for the week of July 31st

Wednesday, August 2nd at 6:30 PM in the ORB Basement is the first ever Middle School ORB meeting. They will be doing a photo scavenger hunt. If you know any middle Schoolers invite them to go, tell them about it or give them a ride to it!!

Thursday, August 3rd at 8:30 PM at Sandi's house, Sandi and Emily's small group will be meeting. Please come...I am not sure what treats I am making, but it will be something good! We will be discussing a chapter of Blue Like Jazz!

Saturday, August 5th there is an all day Art Show in Asbury Park near Convention Hall where Kim Deane and, possibly, Matt Littlehale will have their art work displayed...please go down there to support them!

Saturday, August 5th Tom Sasso is having his first fight in Wildwood. Contact him for more details or if you are interested in going.

Wednesday, August 9th at around 7PM there will be a pool party at Kim Deane's house (out Hope Road in Ocean Twp where Hope Road turns into Green Grove Road, right on the corner there). Come one, come all!

Friday, August 11th at 7:30 PM for 10$ entry fee there will be a show. The Ring Out and Bill Mallonee (from Vigilantes of Love) will be playing at the ORB. The show will either be in the basement or out in the courtyard outside, where you all hang out before ORB starts! Come on out and support the bands!

If you are interested in helping set up for the Sunday Night Worship Services, please just come early at about 3 PM and help set up!

And if you are interested in fundraising and creating events for fundraising for ORB and other organizations, please stick around after the Sunday night service and find Matt Littlehale and talk to him about it!

Tuesday night, August 29th at 7PM YAG will be having an end of the summer pool party at the Senior Andrews' house in Middletown. Their address is 24 LONE OAK RD. Either mapquest it for directions or call Sandi Andrews at 732-671-0809. Please bring your own towel and bathing suit, neither will be provided for you! :)

SAVE THE DATE (and start saving your pennies) for the YAG FALL RETREAT on OCTOBER 13-15, 2006. WE will be going to Streamside Retreat Center near the Poconos . The cost will be about $95 per person. If this is too steep financially, we can definitely work something out, just talk to Andy Newberry! Don't let the cost keep you from going!

ORB's First Annual Film Festival will be held some time in October/November. Keep working on those films for all ages!
