YAG announcements from August 19th, 2008...
This upcoming TUESDAY YAG WILL NOT BE IN THE BASEMENT but rather, we're having YAG's End of the Summer BEACH NIGHT AT LITTLE MONMOUTH! WE WILL BE MEETING at 6:30pm on the beach in Little Monmouth/Monmouth Beach area. PARK IN THE LOT of the Monmouth Beach Club, on the CORNER OF VALENTINE STREET & OCEAN AVE (just googlemaps it!). This will be casual night of hanging out on the beach and there will probably be a game of NIGHTMARE FRISBEE going on. Bring friends, beach toys, surfboards, blankets or whatever else...we'll have some snacks/food and drinks for you guys.
Amanda Calarco is one person short of forming an ORB Volleyball team for a volley tourney that is to take place on September 21st at Convention Hall between 10AM – 2PM. Starbucks is hosting it to raise money and awareness for Big Brothers, Big Sisters. Come speak to Amanda if you are interested in joining the ORB team. You will need to get sponsored in the amount of $50 to play.
Michelle's Summer small group will continue into the Fall…if you are interested in becoming a part of it, talk to Michelle. The women's small group will start fresh after Labor Day. The normal meeting time is Sundays, 10am at Michelle's house.
Save the date! Fall Retreat is scheduled for the 2nd weekend of October 10-12 at Tuscorora. Costs are around $100 per person. More details to come as the date gets closer.

Announcements from 08/05/08!
This upcoming Tuesday, we'll be meeting and hanging out in the basement for awhile and then heading over as a group to watch Spiderman in the park! If you have extra BLANKETS, lawn chairs, bug spray, etc. please bring them! See you guys on Tuesday!!
Starbucks is hosting a volleyball tourney to raise money for Big Brothers, Big Sisters. The tourney will take place on 09/21/08 at 10AM at Convention Hall in Asbury Park. Amanda C. is putting together an ORB team and she needs 6-8 players! Please come talk to her if you're interested. You will need to get sponsored in the amount of $50 to play.
POO Members! Photography Of Orb (umm POO!) has an upcoming assignment! On August 21st at 6pm, Tim Bennett's Small Factory Productions will be hosting a Cartoon Factory Flick Fest at the Clearview Cinemas in Red Bank. POO Members are invited to be a part of the Paparazzi club to help take photos and create a big hype as kids arrive at the festival. If you are interested in being a part of this, please contact Brandon Murray. Alternatively, if you are interested in attending the Factory Flicks, tickets are $5 but talk to Tim about it since tickets are almost guaranteed to sell out.
A couple weeks ago, YAG had a service night in the basement where we helped to make lunches for Aslan and create artwork for care packages to be sent to China. Chris Dela Cruz and the ORB Care team are looking to raise $500 to sponsor some of these care packages to be sent to China. If you have any fundraising ideas or would like to donate to help sponsor a care package ($20/each), please contact Chris! In addition, an art exhibit will be held in Red Bank on 09/20 to display all the artwork YAG has made along with other artwork that was contributed within the Red Bank community. More details to follow!
