Announcements from Tues. 10/20/09

* Next week is YAG Halloween Dress Up night!!! PLEASE COME IN COSTUME IF YOU HAVE ONE!! There will be prizes for best and perhaps worst dressed and we will be having some good old Halloween fun with games, YouTubes, etc. Though there will be some extra ridiculousness to celebrate the Holiday, we WILL stil be having a talk given by the one and only Sandi!!

* This Sunday and every Sunday we have a worship service at The Clearviews Cinema on White Street in Red Bank at 10AM. This Sunday the YAG team is on for PowerPoint. If you are interested in helping us out by flexing your finger muscles and pushing a button throughout the service, please talk to one of the leaders. Thank you!

* If you have yet to pay for the fall retreat that has just passed, please get your money into one of the leaders as soon as possible. If you are unable to pay the rest of the amount that is due, please talk to one of the leaders about acquiring a scholarship to cover the rest.

Week of August 19th

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
• The week after next ( Tuesday, sept 1st) We will BEACH the HECK OUT at the YAG BEACH EXPLOSION at Little Monmouth beach club in Monmouth Beach. Bring your speedo and whatever inflatable nonsensory you feel necessary.

• The Fall YAG Retreat is bearing down upon us come October 9th - 11th... we have already been planning some pretty outrageous stuff for this. we suggest you start getting in shape for it now. More details to come!

• Next week (August 25th) Jay Ervin will be speaking.

• This Sunday and every Sunday, ORB has a weekly service that takes place at the Clearviews Cinema on White Street. Each week YAG is in charge of something... and we always need help! See one of the leaders if you're interested in being involved.

• September 19th at Old First Church in Middletown there will be one heck of a show. Dig this lineup:
Dan Padgett, Leah Francesca, Matt Cook, Pontius Auto ilot and the Shadowland Bandits (Barry Travis' band), Tom Sasso and His Bongos, and believe it or not.... The Patrick Swift Experience. Take a moment to collect your wits... ok - the show is 6-10pm and will be 10 bucks to get in or 7 with a can of food. It is an ORB Care benefit show for Mercy Center. BE THRERE.

• And finally, it would not be a YAG update if we did not say:
We are still planning on making a YAG trip out to the Bounceplex in PA where there are wall to ceiling trampolines for all the jumping frenzy your heart can desire as well as dogeball pits, ball pits and other ridiculous and fun adventures so stay tuned for more news on this!

YAG Announcements from 8/11/09

* YAG’s End of the Summer Beach Night is coming up on Tues. Sept. 1st…stay tuned for more info.

* There is an ORB Care Benefit show on Saturday, Sept. 19th being run by Elyse J. It will be at the Old First Church in Middletown from 6pm – 10pm. Tickets are $10 or $7 with a canned good. Proceeds will be going to benefit the Mercy Center in Asbury Park. So far there are three confirmed bands (Patrick Swift Experience, Tom Sasso & Dan Padgett). Elyse needs two more bands that can draw a decent crowd, someone to help design a flyer and an additional 1 – 2 helpers to setup and cleanup for the show. Please contact Elyse if you would like to be involved in any way!

* There is an ORB worship service every Sunday at 10am at Clearview Cinemas on White Street in Red Bank. This week YAG is in charge of Greeting. Please come a few minutes early so you can stand outside the theatre and welcome people as they come into church!

* Please contact Chris Dela Cruz regarding the myriad of ways to serve our community by volunteering.

* YAG Retreat is coming up! Mark your calendars for the weekend of October 9, 10, and 11 and start saving your money.

* YAG’s annual pool party (it’s a BBQ!) will be this upcoming Tuesday, August 4th at 6:30PM at the Senior Andrews house in Middletown. We will be BBQ’ing so come early and come hungry! Don’t forget to bring your bathing suits! Please call/email Sandi Andrews for more detailed directions.

* There is an ORB worship service every Sunday at 10am at Clearview Cinemas, on White Street in Red Bank. This week YAG is in charge of SETUP & TAKEDOWN. Please, please, PLEASE COME to the theater early at 9AM TO HELP SET UP! We would really appreciate your help!!

Announcements from YAG for 6.23.09

• Join us this SATURDAY, JUNE 27th at 7PM at the New Monmouth Baptist Church in Middletown for our annual ORB PROM!! The cost is $15 bones which will buy you a ticket to excellent food, dancing and a guaranteed night full of fun and frenzy. Come dressed to impress in your best BLACK AND WHITE getup! Imagine the endless possibilities of your grayscale garb – you could be a zebra, a cow, a bride, judge judy, a snowman or anything else your crazy minds can conjure up. Just remember to bring your dancing shoes! The addy is: 4 Cherry Tree Farm Rd., Middletown.

• Speaking of PROM….Nora is trying to recruit some largish objects to serve as props for the prom…so you have any objects lying around at home that we can borrow and turn into something festive for the prom, please contact Nora!

• If you are a lady and you are interested in joining a summer ladies small group that is starting up, come out to Starbucks tonight (Wednesday!) at 7:30PM in Red Bank to meet up with Nora!

• This Friday, the Rotary Club of Red Bank is helping the Monmouth Day Care Center to paint their building. If you are interested in helping to paint and serve not only the community but also specifically, serving those who serve us by allowing us to use their building, then please contact CDLC.

• This Sunday and every Sunday, ORB has a weekly service that takes place at the Clearviews Cinema on White Street. This week YAG is in charge of SET-UP and TAKE-DOWN so please, please, if you are a young adult who is planning on coming to the Sunday service, come a little earlier (9-930am-ish) to help us setup the room for the service and stay a little longer to help us cleanup. It is a HUGE help to us and we’d really, really appreciate your help and participation!

• Fishbone is playing at Ortley Beach on August 14th and Tom Sasso is organizing a trip and buying tickets. If you’re interested in going, please contact him.

YAG Announcements from 5/12...

* RETREAT! RETREAT! RETREAT!

We are leaving tomorrow for our YAG Spring Retreat! We will all be meeting at Pete & Sandi’s house between 5:30 – 6:00pm. Please try and carpool to their house since it’s a pain to park on their street. Even if you are driving other people up in your own cars, please come to their house so we can get directions to you and caravan up there together. Don’t forget to bring your money and pay in full for the retreat ($115 in full or $85 if you gave your $30 deposit)!!! If you haven’t signed up yet for the retreat but are still interested in going, please email one of the leaders ASAP or if you can’t get in touch with them, show up to Pete & Sandi’s house with the full $115 for the retreat and we will do our best to accommodate you. If you cannot afford to pay for the retreat but are still interested in going, please don't let money stop you from coming - talk to one of the YAG leaders and we will help get scholarship money to you (You can email us at one of our names '@theorb.org').

* Big Rick plans on going for a run in the morning on the retreat. If you’re interested in going also, please remember to bring your running shoes.

* There will be a prom planning meeting after church at Matt's house this Sunday.

* There will be a group of people going to Neelams for lunch this Friday at noon. If you’re interested in coming, talk to Pete to confirm or just show up.

Announcements from Tues. May 5th...

RETREAT! RETREAT! RETREAT! The YAG Spring retreat is coming up THIS WEEKEND, Friday, May 15th – Sunday, May 17th at the lovely Streamside in PA! PLEASE BRING YOUR $30 DEPOSIT THIS TUESDAY IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON COMING ON THE RETREAT! We are expecting a ridiculously fun packed weekend, with Scott Jones as our speaker for the weekend! You might have already heard, but there will be ponies, explosions, rainbows, wolves and dragons there this weekend – yes it is all true!! So come and hang out with us! The cost will be $115 total for the weekend which includes food, transportation, accommodations, etc. If you don’t have the money to pay for the retreat, don’t worry! Come talk to one of the leaders and we can help you fund part or all of the retreat, so don’t let money hold you back. Come join us for a FANTSTIC AND FUN-FILLED WEEKEND! If you’re away at college still but want to come…email one of the leaders (we all have email addresses with our first name ‘@theorb.org’) and let us know!

There will be a SWANN extravaganza coming up, so get those Wii and Nintendo fingers ready and we’ll fill you in on the details for the evening soon enough!
